Kerala: A Trip to God's Own Country

We visited Kerala on a family holiday way back in January 2013 but still haven’t been able to forget the peaceful, nature- loving place. Here’s a picturesque view of the Kerala Backwaters. Bordered by coconut and palm trees on all sides, the Backwaters are lagoons that run parallel to the Arabian Sea of the Malabar coast.

The Backwaters have alot of activities like cruises and boating. There are a number of interconnected canals and waterways that lay in these waters in the midst of which there are several towns and cities which almost look like islands. Boats are the primary mode of transportation around this area. Kerala also hosts an annual boat racing competition at this very location. God’s own country indeed!

We’ll be doing a detailed piece on our 10 day holiday Kerala soon, so watch out for it.

Until then,
